‘I’m going Freak-hunting’

DOZENS of sexagenarian jailbirds are sharpening their nail clippers for the impending arrival of former prison officer Joan “The Freak” Ferguson.

Prison insiders said the likes of Bea Smith, Chrissie Latham, “Franky” Doyle and Judy Moran frothed at the mouth when learning Ferguson was found guilty of sexually abusing a 14-year-old on their kitchen TV at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.

The women – who endured years of violent and sexual abuse from the tough-talking jail warden’s black leather-gloved fists during unofficial “body searches” in cell block H during the 1970s and 80s – have reportedly been plotting revenge since the verdict.

Doyle said she was particularly looking forward to giving Ferguson a “good scissoring”.

The threats have prompted Ferguson’s defence lawyer to argue for house arrest.
