JASON Holder has declared his side’s tour of Australia an “extraordinary success”, although he found Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art “a bit pretentious”.
The West Indies sportsman said the squad had enjoyed visiting Launceston wineries and Hobart’s tourist information centre staff were helpful and friendly during their stay.
“We’ve had a much-needed relaxing getaway,” Holder said.
“The only downside really was MONA. I mean, the art is OK but some of the works really do have the feel of being solely designed to shock without any underlying artistic merit.
“And the ferry trip left me a little sick so I was unable to fully enjoy a delicious Grand Chancellor Hotel steak that night.
“But the Australian people are just so welcoming. It’s been such a fantastic holiday and I’m sure we’ll be up for a decent game of cricket when we get home.”
